How to be Prettier: Pantone named Emerald the 2013 color of the year, so expect to see a lot more of this color in the coming months in retail stores. My current favorite emerald nail polish is Essie’s Going Incognito [seen on my nails here].
How to be (less) Awkward: When you are happy someone reached out to you, tell them. “I was so happy when I saw your name on caller ID,” “Can’t believe how thrilled I was to get a friend request from you!,” “Seeing your name in my inbox made my Monday.” Being joyful about connecting is one of the best ways to guarantee more connections.
I just got Going Incognito! I like Sinful Colors Last Chance, too. It’s a deep deep green that looks near black. I pair it with the Essie sometimes because they’re in the same family of greens, just different values.

I was so excited to find out that Emerald is the color of the year for next year! A nice spin on the emerald trend is a nice mint green, which I’ve been seeing a lot of in the stores, for those who like a lighter color but still want to stay in the same green family.
