How to be Smarter: Having a time limit on something you are nervous about or not looking forward to doing makes it instantly more tolerable. Whether you tell yourself you’ll stay at a party for “just an hour” or that you will clean your apartment for “just 15 minutes,” having a deadline in mind makes a task you are dreading more tolerable because your mind can wrap itself around the parameters of the event. You can always extent the time frame if you find yourself having fun or hitting a good groove.
How to be Prettier: Asymmetrical hemlines are everywhere right now: shorter in the front, and longer in the back. (With offbeat hemlines, I favor neutral, solid colors).
How to be (less) Awkward: When a far-away friend has a birthday, a fun way to bridge the distance is to send a hourly text or email with either a fun fact about their new age (“cool things about the number 23″) or about a characteristic you like about them (“reasons you’re awesome”) throughout the day.

I also think having a time limit actually written down makes me more likely to do something because I know I won’t do it all day
It also really helps when you are starting off a new project/ essay… “I’ll just work on it for 30 minutes” and before you know it, you have some sort of direction and the whole thing becomes far less intimidating.
Do you wear skirts like that with tights, or without tights? I never know…
Guys don’t like tights, so I’d consider going without.
Hi Teresa! I think you can do either. I usually wear mine with tights, because I get so cold in summer air conditioning. Also, black tights with a black asymmetrical skirt makes the hemline blend better, making it slightly more appropriate for an office environment. But on the weekends, when you’re outside in the sun, I would let the hemline shine and wear bare legs. xo, Molly
I TOTALLY agree on the time-limit. For instance, I hate cleaning out the dishwasher, so I set my microwave timer for three minutes and race to do it in that amount of time. It makes it a game, and it also makes me realize I’m only spending three tiny minutes on this annoying chore!
