Smart, Pretty & Awkward

How to be Smarter: If you self-identify as a sensitive soul, you have to be strict on who and what you let into your life. Being sensitive isn’t about being weak or a crybaby–it’s about knowing yourself well-enough to be aware of the types of behaviors and personalities that make you feel anxious or worried, and then being tough enough to say “no thanks” to being exposed to them.

How to be Prettier: I ordered these shoes in Clay Suede yesterday, and I love their practical, wearable take on two trends this spring: oxfords and neon (I actually got mine here, but then found them cheaper on Amazon).

  1. If those 13 things don’t cheer you up, I don’t know what will. And that about being a sensitive person and taken that into consideration is very good advice.

Great “Smarter” tip. Everyone should follow it, perhaps not just sensitive people, but especially sensitive people. Like me! From a mental health perspective, don’t allow yourself to be put into situations where you’re going to end up feeling like crap. And it’s definitely not about being weak.

  3. I completely agree with the “smarter” advice. Even if you are not overly sensitive, not exposing yourself to stressful personalities (when you can help it) makes life so much happier. Love the shoes, btw, and #8 had me laughing like crazy!

I really enjoyed the ‘Smarter.’ I would consider myself a sensitive person, and I think there are so many misconceptions about what ‘being sensitive’ means. It’s definitely not a sign of weakness, on the contrary I take my sensitivity to mean that I care (an awful lot) about all kinds of different things. I also liked that you used the term ‘sensitive soul!’

The ‘(less) Awkward’ was also amazing. Thanks!
