Smart, Pretty & Awkward

How to be Smarter: You always have a choice when deciding what to do with your life. Even when people tell you you have no choice, that your path is pre-set,  or to follow what others before you have done, you have a choice not to listen. You always have a choice.

How to be Prettier: When I spill loose powder on my clothes when doing make-up, the best way I have found to get it off is to quickly rub it off with a dry towel. (If you have another better way, please leave it in the comments!).

How to be (less) Awkward: Don’t use more than two different emoticons in one text message (note: multiple images of the same emoticon only counts as one, such as <3<3<3).

re: loose powder — sticky tape also works

  3. A-M says:

Vacuum cleaner hose also works for getting loose powder off.

  4. Tish says:

    I like the smarter :)

  5. Sophiegoose says:

Your text message comment reminded me of that how i met your mother episode where ted is texting a girl he just met “haha and if we have kids. lol. jk. ?”
i like to make it a rule to not text things that would be as awkward to say in person.

  6. Parker says:

Love the less awkward and how to be smarter!
i dont know how you think of this stuff but its awesome!
    always makes my day

  7. Camille says:

Vacuum cleaner hose works well for the loose powder! Sounds a little ridiculous, but every other way always makes the powder smear for me.

  8. Jessika says:

Just came across this bit recently, would be good for a (less)awkward post: When giving someone criticism or advice, be sure to enclose it with good comments, example: “You’ve really made a good effort on that project, I don’t agree with your direction, but you hit the deadline.” or “You look great in that dress! I’m not sure about your hair, but those shoes really pull the look together”

Also, when you’re in a conversation with three people, and the person talking seems to be ignoring the third person, look at the third person. The one talking will then look to them to because you have looked away, and then everyone feels included.

For loose powder, if it’s on my top I just blow it off. A blast with the hair dryer works too. I find it’s better than rubbing it, since I don’t want it to work its way further into the fabric.

  10. Morgain says:

The best way to remove any dried substance from your outfit is to rub the identical fabrics together. I wear suits everyday and this method works incredibly well. Simply turn part of your garment inside out and rub the spot with the unseen portion of the garment that contains the same fabric. It’s magic!

  11. Rebecca says:

A lint roller usually gets off accidental powder spills pretty well

  12. Molly says:

I hardly wear make up, but for when you get deodorant on your shirt an old pair of tights works wonders – maybe it’d work the same for the make up too!?

  13. Isabel says:

Loose powder: if it’s on a shirt, pull the shirt to essentially flick the powder off as many times as needed.

  14. Courtney says:

Put an inside-out sock on your hand and rub! This works really well if you get deodorant on your clothes as well!!
