Smart, Pretty & Awkward

How to be Smarter: Even though every goal requires sacrifices, they don’t need to feel like sacrifices to the goal-maker. The term ‘sacrifice’ implies giving up something you enjoy, but a sign of the right goal for right person is that each step along the journey feels worthwhile and interesting, not like you are missing out on something better.

How to be (less) Awkward: If someone has a significant other and they want to tell you, they will, without waiting for you to ask. There is no reason to pry.

AMEN to the how to be less awkward tip! I HATE when people ask if I am in a relationship. When I say no their response is either sympathy or congratulations and I am in need of neither.

How true your words (in smarter) ring for me. It’s been drilled into me how unattainable things (like college and degrees) are, or how difficult and grueling it will be to try, but I set my goal anyway. And despite the warnings, my college life is interesting and I love what I’m doing, and where I’m headed, even if things do get difficult. The goal makes even the hardest parts worthwhile.

    Thank you, Molly!
